Rate Tables and Rates Overview

A Rate Table is simply a collection of destination rate patterns. You can define as many rate tables as you like, with each rate table consisting of an unlimited number of Rate patterns.

You must define at least one rate table and one rate pattern for RadiusCat to operate. This is due to the fact that RadiusCat in performing an authorization function requires at least one destination telephone number or pattern against which to authorize the call.

Generally speaking you will define rate tables in logical groups based on any of the following requirements:

Customer A
Rate Table A
   Pattern:1905/ Per Min Charge $0.20/ .......

Customer B
Rate Table B
   Pattern:1905/ Per Min Charge $0.30/ .......

Customer C
Rate Table C
   Pattern:1905/ Per Min Charge $0.40/ ......

In the above illustration the destination pattern "1905" has 3 different rates of 20¢, 30¢ and 40¢ for Rate Table A, Rate Table B and Rate Table C respectively. The different Rate Tables are then assigned to 3 different Card Accounts which will all be charged at the different rates for calling the same destination.

Rate Table USA
Pattern:1561/ Per Min Charge $0.04/ .......
Pattern:1813/ Per Min Charge $0.05/ .......
Pattern:1508/ Per Min Charge $0.06/ .......

Rate Table JAMAICA
Pattern:1876/ Per Min Charge $0.06/ .......
Pattern:1876983/ Per Min Charge $0.07/ .......
Pattern:1877922/ Per Min Charge $0.08/ .......

In the above illustration we have defined two sperate Rate Tables which have destination rates for different regions, Jamaica and USA. We could assign "Rate Table USA" to all the card accounts that are allowed to call the USA only and the card accounts that are for call Jamaica only will be assigned the Rate Table "Rate Table Jamaica".

NOTE:
Only one Rate Table can be assigned to a Card Account.
